Social Networking

A social networking service is an online service that focuses on enabling the structure of social networks or community relationships among people for, sharing interests, activities, backgrounds, or real-life relations. A social network service consists of a proposal of each user and his/her social links, and a variety of additional services. Most social network services are web-based and provide means for users to interact over the Internet, such as e-mail and instant messaging. Online community services are sometimes considered as a social network service, though in a wider sense, social network service usually means an individual-centered service whereas online community services are group-centered. Social networking sites allow users to share ideas, activities, events, and interests within their individual networks.

To describe this wonder, the term "social networking sites" also appears in public speech, and the two terms are often used interchangeably. We chose not to use the term "networking" for many because "Networking" emphasizes relationship initiation, often between strangers. While networking is possible on these sites, it is not the primary practice on many of them, nor is it what separates them from other forms of social network communication. So instead we use the term “Social Network"

Its important to follow the private policy in order to keep your information secure as well as keep other users safe. All computer accounts and some public servers are subject to an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). An AUP is a policy that outlines appropriate use of the Internet and is enforced by system administrators. Violating the AUP can result of the withdrawal of your Internet access privileges. The restrictions that pertain to an ISP account are called the terms of service. When you sign up for an account, you also agree to the terms of service or AUP. You should locate and periodically check your account’s AUP, as you are expected to know the AUP.(Brandon)

Use of Twitter

Twitter is useful for closer groups, although there are a good bit of large mob lie groups on Twitter. If you follow your friends, and they follow each other, you can quickly communicate group-related items, such as, example is "Miami Heat Fans only". In otherwords twitter is a great way to adverdise groups as well as starting trends.

Facebook is the largest online social network and as of now has over 400 million users. Facebook allows people to interact, share photos and find people just like twitter, but unlike twitter facebook is more family oriented. In addition to using Facebook for social purposes, many people use it for professional use or business networking.
